Things to do in prep: Build camera mount. Camera software. Camera/sequence triggering. Soft triggering for pulse setup. Auto pulse number advance and auto running. Setup zeeman and MSE polarised source rel to frame and beam image and setup camera and Savart rotation. Measure θf-θa excatly after rough setup complete. Compare light and noise levels from common source to old camera. Integrate lens control into sequence for focus scans. Test how many lines are required to make a decent measurement and see how fast you can get the camera at that. Set filter tilts: 3rd filter as Alluxa, tilted so that core is AOI 0° and edge is AOI 6°. Rember what that looks like with CCD reflection, so can do it later. Think about equip to take to measure filters vs AOI with rene's spec. Things to remember to do there: ** Don't forget to set the filter tilts when moved!! ** Get a few pulses with different Savart angle to sanity check Zeeman and MSE. Get pulse with beam switching on stable current profile. Get something nice with changing current profile (as many ramps as poss but also ECCD would be nice) Get at least one shot with clear "MHD markers" - and find out who can deal with those. Some really fast stuff during Sawteeth, NTMs etc. Get a shot full of full frames on sawteeth/NTMs with global shutter with short integration. Needs very accurate timing to work out phasing later on. Field ramp (preferably with beam switching) One of the NBCD pulses. Defocus the lens and try to measure the lamps. Measure the filters with known angles on Rene's spectrometer. Ask Eli to measure the Halpha spectrum from one of the MSE fibres looking near the limiter (one without refl BG) Try an MSE filter (as 3rd filter), just for kicks and giggles. Talk to Tim.Happel about piezzo motor drive.
